Jéssica Ilfu-Soi
About the Artist
Jéssica Ilfu-Soi is a multidisciplinary artist who works across materials, visual and sensory landscapes in the construction of a language rooted in her identity. Her practice explores themes connected to her ancestral roots, spirituality, and states of impermanence and metamorphosis, both of the body and the natural world.
Her works exist at the intersection of the physical, ethereal, and cosmic realms, exploring tensions between matter and anti-matter while reflecting on cycles of death, decay, and rebirth.
Each sculpture is conceived and crafted by hand, guided by intuition and a primordial dialogue between body and matter. Working across diverse materials and mediums, from clay to hair, from papier-mâché to plaster, and extending into sound and video, Ilfu-Soi explores their tactile, symbolic, and transformative qualities, allowing each work to find its own gravitational center.
