Vania R. Gonçalves

About the Artist

When she discovered her passion for ceramics, Vania Gonçalves already had an established career in London, where she perfected her craft in a series of experimental workshops followed by formal training at Ar.Co after returning to Portugal, where she currently lives and works. 

Her artistic practice is deeply rooted in the themes of movement, change and transformation. Vania’s sculptures reflect the fluidity of identity and existence, combining organic forms with contrasting textures and enamels that evoke feelings of transitoriness and ambiguity.  

Vania’s works have been shown in galleries and design fairs in Portugal and abroad, including at Lisbon by Design, Dubai Design Week, Thrown Gallery, in London, and Double J Collective Gallery, in Dubai. Her pieces are represented in private collections and feature in public art exhibitions, such as that of Museu de Arte Urbana at Taguspark.
