Family Coat of Arms
Family workshop inspired by armorial pieces from the Albuquerque Collection, celebrating Father’s Day.
In this visit-workshop, families begin by discovering a piece from the collection that invites reflection on ideas of family, heritage, and identity. Fathers and children are encouraged to share stories, memories, and meaningful moments that shape their family history.
Inspired by Portuguese family coats of arms produced in China, participants will transform these memories into a personal emblem – a symbolic image representing their own “family legend” and the legacy they continue to build together.
During the workshop, families will create their own coat of arms through drawing and painting on clay tiles. Silhouettes inspired by traditional Portuguese heraldry will be provided, along with decorative elements commonly found in the collection, such as floral motifs and symbolic forms.
This activity encourages creativity, intergenerational dialogue, and family connection, celebrating Father’s Day through art, memory, and shared imagination.
