Imagined Creatures: Shadow Theatre Workshop, with Beniko Tanaka

What new creatures might emerge when our bodies meet light and shadow?

Inspired by the world of Poems: The Albuquerque Collection by André Romão, this workshop invites participants to explore the forms, mythological figures and narratives found in the exhibition through shadow theatre.

Led by artist Beniko Tanaka, the workshop invites participants to draw and cut out silhouettes that relate to their own bodies, transforming contours, gestures and movements into imaginary characters. At the end, these figures come to life through light, giving rise to short stories in a creative exploration of metamorphosis and the relationship between reality and imagination.
