My Artist’s Book – Summer Workshop
Summer Workshop
During this summer holiday week, the Albuquerque Foundation invites children to immerse themselves in the foundation’s universe and create their own artist’s book — an object where image, material, and thought come together.
Over the course of five days, the museum becomes a space for experimentation, study, and discovery. Drawing on the current exhibitions and the works from its remarkable collection, each participant will be encouraged to observe closely, gather references, explore colors, forms, and narratives, and transform these experiences into a unique artistic object.
Program
The week is structured as a creative journey:
- Observe and discover: guided visits to the exhibitions, encouraging critical observation and imagination;
- Build the support: creation of recycled paper, exploring texture, sustainability, and materiality;
- Print and reveal: experimentation with techniques such as printmaking, drawing, collage, and cyanotype, discovering different ways of producing images;
- Transform and compose: organization of the pages, articulating text and image, rhythm, and sequence;
- Present and share: a final moment with families, where each child presents their book.
