Ceramics Workshop: Nature in Metamorphosis
Nature in Metamorphosis: Ceramics Workshop, with Maria Rosa Cerâmica
In this workshop, developed in partnership with Maria Rosa Cerâmica, participants are invited to explore the relationships between art, nature and imagination. The experience begins with a visit to the exhibition Poemas: The Albuquerque Collection by André Romão, followed by a walk through the Foundation’s gardens. By observing botanical motifs, shapes and details found in both the artworks and the landscape, each participant gathers visual references through drawing or photography.
In the second part of the workshop, these references are reinterpreted through hand-building techniques in ceramics. Working from a slab of clay, participants create imaginary botanical compositions, exploring textures, reliefs and volumes. Rather than reproducing elements of nature, the workshop encourages experimentation and the transformation of observed forms, giving rise to unique and personal creations.
What new forms can emerge when we observe nature through art?
Each participant will have the opportunity to create a unique, personal piece, which could also become a special gift for someone this Christmas.
After the workshop, the pieces will be fired and made available for collection at the Albuquerque Foundation within a maximum of 15 working days after the activity.
