Ceramic Pencil Drawing Workshop
Ceramic pencil drawing workshop, with Abril Ceramics
Developed in partnership with Abril Ceramics, this workshop begins with a visit to the exhibition Poems: The Albuquerque Collection by André Romão. By observing the artworks, their shapes, motifs and details, participants select elements to draw and create their own sketches in an exercise in attentiveness and contemplation inspired by the world of the Chinese Scholar’s Studio.
How can a drawing be translated into ceramics?
In the second part of the workshop, the drawings move from paper onto a bisque-fired ceramic piece. Using ceramic pencils and natural oxides, each participant explores new forms of expression on the ceramic surface, creating a unique and personal piece that can also become a special Christmas gift.
After the workshop, the pieces will be glazed and fired, and will be available for collection at the Albuquerque Foundation within 15 working days of the activity.
Bisque-fired ceramic pieces, ceramic pencils, natural oxides, tools, glazing and firing are all included.
