Extraordinary Pairs: Ceramics Workshop
Ceramics workshop for families, with Abril Ceramics
In this family workshop, developed in partnership with Abril Cerâmica, children and adults begin with a short walk through the Albuquerque Foundation gardens, observing and collecting leaves and other small natural elements to inspire their creative work.
Back in the studio, each pair makes and decorates a stoneware plate, exploring shapes, textures and botanical impressions in clay through slab-building, imprinting and underglaze painting techniques.
The activity invites participants to discover nature through ceramics, encouraging creativity, experimentation and sharing across generations.
After the workshop, the pieces will be glazed and fired, and made available for collection at a later date. Each plate will be a unique creation that could also become a special Christmas gift.
What shapes and textures from nature can we transform into a creation made by four hands?
Participant information: Aprons and comfortable clothing are recommended. The pieces will be handed over after glazing and firing.
